Double Train Birthday Cake

All aboard!  This buttercream birthday cake was for a true fan of trains, who wanted both a metro link and an amtrak train on his cake.  The terrain was piped on with vanilla and chocolate icing. The sign andthe number "4" on top were molded out of chocolate.

Both trains were cut out of fondant.

The cake was 2 tiers with 2 cupcakes added to the top.

Traditional Buttercream Wedding Cake

This 2 tier vintage-inspired cake was for a very special couple who I really enjoyed meeting.  The cake featured traditional buttercream piping around the edges and hand crafted sugar flowers with a touch of gold sparkle. Classic and elegant for an intimate celebration.

Congratulations to David and Edgar - best wishes for a long and happy life together!

Sorcerer Mickey Birthday Cake

I thought this was a cute and unique idea for a Mickey Mouse themed cake.  The "Sorcerer Mickey" cake featured 2 tall tiers of cake and bright colored fondant.  The hat was built with layers of cake and a cupcake in the tippy top.  The ears were molded from fondant.  And the yellow details really pop against the black and the bright blue and red.

Romantic Ruffled Cake with Sugar Peony

Happy Valentine's Day!  In the spirit of love, I wanted to post this cake that I absolutely LOVE!  Im obsessed with the pale blush tones.  This feminine 2-tier cake was for a 60th birthday celebration, but the design would also work for a bridal shower, wedding, baby shower, really any occasion. The cake was wrapped with strips of gently ruffled fondant in varying shades of white, ivory and blush pink. A sugar peony was wired and hand-painted with petal dust, then attached to the front of the cake.

Minnie Mouse Mini Cake and Cookies

I love the bright pink in this rendition of Minnie Mouse!  This mini cake featured Minnie Mouse ears and was accompanied by beautiful sugar cookies of Mickey and Minnie faces.  Cookies were topped with fondant with hand drawn details in edible food marker.

Plumeria Wedding Cutting Cake

With cupcakes still all the rage for weddings, brides are looking for a small personal cake for the traditional cutting of the wedding cake. This cake is (obviously) one of my favorites since it featured my favorite plumeria flowers. I created the flowers by wiring each gumpaste petal individually and twisting them together. Petal dust was applied in the centers and the flowers were placed on a small fondant cake. Perfectly sweet!  Visit our website at www.plumeriacakes.com for more wedding designs.
